I started my career in publishing the day after graduating from Wellesley College and I’ve never looked back. I immediately fell in love with the people, the craft of editing, and the business of books. Over 20 years in senior editorial roles at independent and Big 5 publishers, I have edited numerous nonfiction award-winners and bestsellers by Dr. Daniel Amen, Deepak Chopra, Cesar Millan, Pattie Boyd, and Meredith Baxter. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with an extensive list of talented authors including Dr. Ben Lynch, an expert in epigenetics; Brandon McMillan, Emmy-Award winning host of Lucky Dog; Maya Dusenbery, editor of Feministing.com; Julie Smolyansky, the CEO of Lifeway Foods; Magdalena Wszelaki, founder of Hormones & Balance; John Gallucci, medical coordinator for Major League Soccer; Gina Harney, award-winning blogger of Fitnessista.com; Dr. Deborah Gilboa, parenting expert; and Mark Victor Hansen, cocreator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series.
Now, as a freelance editor, writer, and publishing consultant living in Brooklyn, I’m thrilled to be able to focus on helping you bring your ideas to the page. If we work together, I will approach your project in the spirit of collaboration and creativity. Honest, up-front, and down-to-earth, I believe in constructive criticism. I won’t mince words but I will strive to make you feel good about the process and great about the final product. And, if I don’t think I’m the right fit, I’ll tell you so. Ready to find a literary agent or self-publish? I know what top-notch agents are looking for in a proposal and how to position your project to attract attention. With extensive experience in the publishing industry and a roster of successful authors, I combine market savvy with a sophisticated editorial sensibility. How can I help you? |
